People Elected La La On September the 22, 1971, Southeastern held its Fall election for the new Fresh men Senators. Interest did not seem to reach the students during the campaign or the election; the election results in terms of people who went to vote was one of the poorest this school has ever reported. The newly elected officers are: College Parallel Paula Thompson, Mary Anne Strickland, Tommy Greer, and Pat Wooten, Technical Department; Rachel Barnes, and Kathy Britt, Vocational Department Peggy Dennis £oid Barbara Gore. All of the new and old of ficers of the SGA have ex pressed a real desire to meet and listen to the problems and suggestions of as many students as possible. The see choir this year is one of the best yet. It’s enrollment is 58, an increase from last year. Richard Burkhardt is director. Already a concert is scheduled to be presented November 4, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. A series of sacred and pop music will be sung. Such numbers as “I Believe,” “Leaving On A Jet Plane,” “Hey Jude,” “Everything is Beautiful,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” “God of Mercy,” “The Lord Bless You,” “This Is My Country,” “Psalm 150,” and many more. The choir is putting a lot of work into this upcoming concert. Everyone is urged to attend. Welborne Back From Overseas Recently, Curtis and Betty Welborne returned home from a summer trip to Greece, Their stay abroad lasted from August 14 to September 8. ' Among the places visited by the Welbornes were the Acropolis in Athens, the home of Hippocrates at Epidarus, the tomb of Agamemnon at Mycenae, the temples at Corinth and Sounion, and the Temple of Ajwllo at Delphi. The tour also included part of southern Yugoslavia and the site of the original Olympic games at Olympia. Welborne listed Athens as one of his favorite places because he was able to visit the exact spot of Socrates’ trial and the probable place of Socrates’ imprisonment. He also felt that Olympia and Delphi contained many beautiful examples of ancient Greek art and sculpture. When asked about the people of Greece, he stated that basically there was no difference between people all over the world.
