L. E. A. P. Now In Progress The L.E.A.P. Center is a project which stands for Learn ing, Encouragement, Action and couragement, Action and Progress. It is designed to offer comprehensive en couragement to groups of 125 students here at Southeastern Community College. The staff is composed of Guidance Counselors, the Director which is R.T. Nicholas, and a co-ordinator for tutorial services. The project will also have assigned 8 or more student tutors. The L.E.A.P. Center is based on co operation of students, facualty, staff, parents and other community individuals, and agencies, has the following services as part of the project: (1) to evaluate and identify further the needs of students through the use of the above staff working with them, both at their homes and on campus; (2) Provides a variety of experiences related to the students in employment or transfer to a four year institution; (3) To modify the curriculum, to provide an effective non- traditional curriculum; (4) To orient the staff and facualty to the methods and gaosl of the project L.E.A.P. students; (5) To integrate project L.E.A.P. programs with other public and private agents; (6) To develop mechanism for continuous evaluation and change; (7) To plan and implement cultural programs, workshops and retreats, depicting certain vital aspects of various ethnic groups as it relates to the educational process. The presentation will be made the nights of November 15& 16. The play is a murder mystery in which the audience plays a major role . The props that wilh be used on stage were made by the actors in order to recieve all the aspects of putting on a play . With the days of the play comming up fast the actors are busily rehersering parts and getting their moves cordinated with the other actors...
