Johnson Is President
Of The NCTYCC

At the meeting of the
North Carolina Two Year
College Council held at
the Royal Villa in
Raleigh, March 11-13.
Miss Rebecca Johnson
was elected president for
the year beginning June 1,
1976.
The NCTYCC is com
posed of reading
specialists, adult basic
education leaders,
developmental studies
instructors, and others’
interested in adult
literacy in the community
college system in North
Carolina. The mem
bership is currently about
60 persons and growing.
The group is presently
working on plans to up
date the two year college
programs to the needs of
four year institutions.
Miss Johnson came to
Southeastern Community
College in August of 1973.
She received her
Bachelors at Duke
University, and her
Masters in reading at the
University of Virginia.
Miss Johnson is presently
an instructor in the
English department here
at see and has duties with
l^cial Services and the
Upward Bound
Programs.
