DIAMOND DOPE. McCauley’s base running won it. He runs like he meant business. Bron smashed one at' the proper time and McCauley took advant, age of it to score the winning run. Thompson found two good ones. Malone pitched his first full game and won it. Five hits and eight strike outs and two runs isn’t bad for a youngster. He is hitting 400 so far which looks .good also. arren took everything that came his way at short. Woods is still out of the game, but will likely get back about the first game on the western trip. His injury while not serious at all was painful and necessita ted his “lying in” for several days. We are glad to announce he is out on the campus again and will soon occupy post number 6 in his usual manner. Horne’s running catch of Rudisell’s long fly looked good from where we sat. The local club wound up the season so far as games at home are concerned and our last chance to see the club in battle will be at Burlington, Saturday, 25th. Then, after the usual western trip of a week, activities in the line of base ball will change color somewhat, with probably the usual games between “rancK” teams, Y. M. 0. A., faculty, society, etc., to relieve the stillness until Lieutenant Hobson opens his commenee- meht broadside. ‘ ' \
