As the oIl saying goes, ‘'Everyone makes a mistake once in a while.” We
are glad to note that ‘‘Jimmie” and Ruth have decided it doesn’t pay to be
fiiemies.
Just been iliscovered! Rev. Clem believes in preparedness. Last Wednes
day afternoon he was seen sporting a straw lid on the campus. It’s a little
early, “Preacher,” that’s exactly the way we feel; but don’t let Uncle
George’s cows see you.
Although there seems to be a lack of pep on the campus, the girls from
Ihe Ladies’ Hall are exonerated from any blame. They attend the games
m a body, and spill loads of pep. It would be well for the rest of us to follow
j the example they have set.

Mr. B. A. Shuman, General Secretary
of the Young Men’s Christian Associa
tion in Buenos Aires, spoke to the stu
dents and faculty in the auditorium
Tuesday morning.
Mr. Shuman spoke on “South Amer
ica, the Country of Opportunity.” The
speaker brought to his auditors stories
of the life of a “Y” worker in the
great countries of South America. There
were many interesting details of the
working of the Association in Buenos
Aires. Mr. Shuman stated that their
building in that great city aceommo'
dateil 2,500 men and that there w'as a
membership of 4,000. There are five
secretaries from the United States and
twenty-five native secretaries carry
ing on this great work.
It was inspiring to hear the great
message that Mr. Shuman delivered.
He is an able man as indicated by the
powerful influence he has had in spread
ing the gospel of the spirit, mind and
body among the peoples of our neigh
boring continent. ^
Mr. Shuman came at the request of
the Y. M. C. A. cabinet, to whom he
spoke some time ago.
