The people of Burlington, Graham, and GibsonviUe arose to the occasion Saturday night when they transported the Elon College student body to Bur lington for the recital of the ToUefsen Trio. The burning of the administration building here which contained th’e col lege auditorium left no place as a pub lic assembly room in the community large enougli to accommodate the crowd that attends these concerts. More than 100 tickets for this attraction had been sold in Burlingtou, and others in Gra ham, GibsonviUe and Haw River. The citizens of these communities very gen erously provided automobiles aud trans ported the student body from the cam pus, leaving at 7:30 and returning im- n;ediately after the concert. The col lege and students are under a lasting debt of thanks to the good citizens of Burlington, Graham and Qibsonville for this kindness. There is not a shadow of doubt that the urfortunate fire here has served to tie the communities round about the college into a closer fellowship than ever for the college and has made the '■oilege feel its dependence upon th(* fronnnunities.
