On Thursday, .March 12, the Boosters Club journeyed to Stokes.lale and gay a very good program. The usual nuii, t)ers were given with the exception of a piano duet furnished by Misses Olapp and Dillinger of Stokesdale. Perry Smith, Dwight Spence and p’rarik Alex ander were visitors along with the club. Gibbs was out of the gym quar tet because of injury and Gordon Hoi land was missed by the string orchestra He IS now undergoiDg an ojieration in the hospital, ^[r. L. P. Rippy, a grad uate of Elon, and .Miss McCollum, a former student, made things very pleas ant for the club along with the kind hospitality afforded by others. Tuesday evening, March 17, the ch.! vontured as far as Pittsboro. The ho:- pitahty shown the members there waf unusually good. On arriving they were nnhered into the homes of the people where a delightful dinner was enjoyed. At 7:4.3 the program was un der way and the members were anxious to put on the best program ever at tempted. Mr. Foril was accompanied by .Mr, Staiilej' in the beginning. On their guitars they set a high standard for those who were to follow. McNeil, Thomas, Stanley and Wil Flams received encore after cncore. The quartet was one of the outstanding fea tiires. The members had to l,iy aside all assumed .lignity and “just sing. , ^ Stanley and Thomas were not “too tired” to play “Too Tired.” The an ; dience would not let them get away I witlumt giving an encore. The duet by Stanley and Sharpe was •mucli appreciated. Dr. Alexander gave the address for the evening. His words were very timely, and appreciated by the audi ence. There is no greater booster of Elon than Dr. Alexander. At their appearance the regular gym team was j.resent an,l as usual worked nicely. Gilliam, ,as clown, was re peatedly applauded. The quartet, as a whole, pulled many new- stunts which thrilled the audience from time to time.
