BOOSIEBS’ CLUB IIIIIKES
TWO SUCCESSPyi TBIPS
Presents Programs at Stokesdale and
at Pittsboro.
On Thursday, .March 12, the Boosters
Club journeyed to Stokes.lale and gay
a very good program. The usual nuii,
t)ers were given with the exception of
a piano duet furnished by Misses Olapp
and Dillinger of Stokesdale. Perry
Smith, Dwight Spence and p’rarik Alex
ander were visitors along with the
club. Gibbs was out of the gym quar
tet because of injury and Gordon Hoi
land was missed by the string orchestra
He IS now undergoiDg an ojieration in
the hospital, ^[r. L. P. Rippy, a grad
uate of Elon, and .Miss McCollum, a
former student, made things very pleas
ant for the club along with the kind
hospitality afforded by others.
Tuesday evening, March 17, the ch.!
vontured as far as Pittsboro. The ho:-
pitahty shown the members there waf
unusually good. On arriving they
were nnhered into the homes of the
people where a delightful dinner was
enjoyed. At 7:4.3 the program was un
der way and the members were anxious
to put on the best program ever at
tempted.
Mr. Foril was accompanied by .Mr,
Staiilej' in the beginning. On their
guitars they set a high standard for
those who were to follow.
McNeil, Thomas, Stanley and Wil
Flams received encore after cncore. The
quartet was one of the outstanding fea
tiires. The members had to l,iy aside
all assumed .lignity and “just sing.
, ^ Stanley and Thomas were not “too
tired” to play “Too Tired.” The an
; dience would not let them get away
I witlumt giving an encore.
The duet by Stanley and Sharpe was
•mucli appreciated.
Dr. Alexander gave the address for
the evening. His words were very
timely, and appreciated by the audi
ence. There is no greater booster of
Elon than Dr. Alexander.
At their appearance the regular gym
team was j.resent an,l as usual worked
nicely. Gilliam, ,as clown, was re
peatedly applauded. The quartet, as a
whole, pulled many new- stunts which
thrilled the audience from time to time.

When the case eanie up im Court, the

but you drove it over a hundred miles,
fully intending to’ get it across the

At this juncture Atkinson almost
brought himself into contempt of Court

Mr. .Judge, if that fellow drove that

“1 can. hardly tell you,” the boy re
