C]icounter with Weaver College here
Saturday. The game was interesting
from beginning to end with the score
remaining tied from the tliird to the
eleventh.
The visitors scored first in the second
inning, when after one man was out, a
single, a double and an error following
in rapid succession pushed two men
across the plate. A fast double play,
Criitclificl.] to Lindley to Gilliam, end
ed the “coring for Weaver until the
ele\'.’jith, when a single by Kuykendali,
n sacrifice by Kagan and a single by
Lemmon bvonght Kuykendall in for
tlieir third run. Lemmon scored the
fourth run while ililler was being
-hased out between first and second.
Eloii’s first run came in the second
when Walker was given a free pass and
1\ Caddell hit a smashing single to left
field bringing Walker home for the first
vim. Tn the tliird frame after one man
was clnwn, Gilliam smashed the pill into
leep center for a lioine run. This ter
minated tlie scoring for the locals.
Kdwards allowed ten hits, but they
A\'T(‘ well :?c‘att-ored and prevented the
term fron scoring as much as they
should liave. Kogleman was master of
till' game for the most part until the
ele\'f'tiTh when three, hits were bunched
ofi' his delivery.
1’he fielding feature of the game was
the fast work of Lindley, who figCred
ill Uvn fast double plays and stabbed a
line lirive in the seventh that seemed
nil inipnsv:ii)lc chance.
