JANUAHY 27, 1940 iMaroon and Gold PAGE THKS3 Girls' Basketball League Set For Tournament Activities Intramural Basketball To Get Underway This Week By June Murphy Teams were chosen last Thurs day in the girls’ gym classes for the basketball tournament. Win ners in each class will be deter mined by process of eliminatioi and these winners will in turn p!ay for the championship. Keen comoctition is expected in each class. Teams are evenly matched with determined players on each side. Many players were outstandine during a recent practice game. One of the most promising play ers was Margaret Carroll. It still remains an exciting race with three teams deadlocked for first place, and another only a »alf game behind. Captains of West dormitory are; second floor — Ruth Andei’son; third floor — Lillian White Captains of Ladies Hail are: first floor — Betty Hoyt; second floor — Evelyn Lilley. After this intramural tourna ment, the sororities will play.
