MINISTERIALS HAVE PICNIC The Ministerial Association has started something; the annual round of Spring picnics. On last Monday afternoon the boys met at the back of the Alamance building where cars were wait ing to take them to Swepsonville. Swepsonville is the home of two, of the students; Ellis Clark and] Isaac Terrell. French Club Sponsors Full Length Film The French Club held its regu lar meeting on Thursday evening, March 27, in the faculty parlor. Plans were made for the presen tation of a French film on the campus and for a picture for the 1941 annual. As a part of the French stu dents’ contribution to the college, on Friday, April 18th, and Sat urday, April 19th, the French Club is sponsoring a full length, first rate film ,“Carnet de Bal.” This is one of the latest French films brought to this country and was produced right before the outbreak of the second Wor.d War. The chief characters con sist of Marie Bell, Louis Gouvct and Jean Garbin. In brief, it is a story of a young widow, who after the death of her husband, decides to travel and renew Ihe acquaintances of her former Tjeau. She decides this one day while ransacking through memoirs when she came across the dance card of the first ball she ever attended, and from that, she de cides to look up each of the younj men whose names appeared on that card. The French Ciub • n- courages all college studrents to see this film, and the club is sure that the students -wUl enjoy the entangling romance which it presents. We feel sure that even non-French students will enjoy this picture since English sub titles are given. The French Club decided to have a joint page with the »Jer- man Club in the 1941 Phipsicli. This is another step which will aid in the permanency of the Lwo clubs, which were organi2:.d - .i the campus this year. 1 As a part of the program ' i the club, French provencial .Jri ' was discussed and French do.Is, i each representing a Provtn a of France, were shown to t; t' group by Miss Bussell. Chai ■ s Parker showed the club many in teresting French postal cards ' f Paris, Troyes, and Alsace, wbicli he has received from a friend ■ i his living in Troyes, Aube, a l.r situated on the Seine River about 180 miles from Paris. Fnri'-n games were then played and en joyed by the group.
