FRIDAY, APRIL 18.1969 maroon and gold PAGE 3 Christians Top Bulldogs, 5-2 Capps Pitches Win In Rain-Swept Tilt POLE VAIJLTER IS ONE OF TOP MEN FOR TRACKSTERS One of the top members of the Elon College track squad this spring --tops in more ways than one — is Ron Bolton, a sophomore pole vaulter from Greens boro, who set a new Christian pole vault record of 12 feet in the very first meet last year. Bolton later went even higher than 12 feet in the Davidson Relays to better his own mark, but he did not get credit for a record due to the fact that he did not win first place at Davidson. The Christian tracksters opened their 1969 season with Atlantic Christian here last Friday, but results of that meet were not in when the Maroon and Gold went to the printer. The only Methodist threat came in the eighth when three straight singles loaded the bases, but Ramsey pulled out with out a score when the fan ned the third out batter.
