Fighting Christian Club Holds
1975 Athletic Awards Banquet
By Gary Spitler
Last Thursday night’s sports
banquet was one of excitement
for Elon's athletes. After dinner.
Coach Bill Miller introduced the
guest speaker for the vening. Bill
Pakcer, athlete, coach,
businessman and sportscaster.
From Wake Forest University,
Pakcer gave a humorous speech
which the crowd enjoyed as he
made jokes about Coach Miller,
Monte Towe, Coach Wooden of
UCLA and others. Before Mr.
Pakcer began to speak. Coach
Wilson presented a special
award. A supporter of Elon
athletics who has been ill and is
now on the rebound, was able to
Intramurals
Grow in Student
Interests
By J.E. McGann
Intramurals this year have
been supported by more women
than in any previous year.
Eieginning last fall, the intramural
program held football games for
those girls who wanted to play
out some frustrations. Staley
First Floor took first place, but
had a close battle against Virginia
Second Floor who took second
place.
The next season was
basketball and this brought more
women to the gym than ever
before. The Commuter team
took first place this time, and
second went to Staley First
Floor. The women are now
finishing their season of softball,
and once again, the participation
on softball teams has been
positive.
In conclusion, one could say
that this year's women's
intramural program has been a
success and has given the women
students a time to get out,
exercise, and meet fellow
students.
The WAA officers are being
thanked for the work they have
done in providing such a program
for the benefit of the Elon
women students.

year's semi-final playoff football
game against Henderson State
was dedicated to him on
December 7 and then Coach
Wilson presented him with the
game ball of that contest which

winner and a special guy." You
could feel the warmth of every
heart there.
