Law as a career
Pops concerts open Monday

Interested in law as a
career? The Campbell Uni
versity School of Law will
host a pre-law program on
Friday, Nov. 16, for pre-law
ad^’bers and students. The
program includes a tour of
the law school admissions
procedures, and the admis
sion process ^t Campbell
School of Law.
The program begins at 9
a.m. with registration and
ends after lunch at 1:30 p.m.
The afternoon visits and
consultations are optional.
The Campbell University
School of Law is also conduc
ting an undergraduate orien
tation program during the
eight-week summer session.
The program is a three-credit
hour seminar on legal
thought, the legal profession,
and legal research. It is
designed for sophomores and
juniors who are thinking
about law as a career but who
are uncertain whether they
would enjoy law school and
law practice. It is also a good
opportunity for those who
want to improve their appli
cations to become more com
petitive for admission to any
law school in the country.
Attending the summer pro
gram does not commit a
student to attending Camp
bell University School of
Law.

This year’s “Pops” con
cert, sponsored by the Elon
College Chapter of MENC, is
sure to be a hit. The “Pops”
consists of diimer and a
varied musical concert Mon
day and Tuesday nights at
6:30.
The concert will begin with
“Poet and Peasant” by von
Suppe. Other musical num
bers include “Hornpipe
Dance Number 1” by
Brahms, and selections by
Terrell Cofield, soprano,
from “My Fair Lady.”
The wdtz from “Sleeping
Beauty” for ballet by Tschai-
kowsky features Brenda
Brantley, Dana Hardy, Jill
Gunther, Barbara Stokes,
and is choreographed by
Brenda Brantley. E)r. D.E.
McDonald of Dundee, Scot
land (presently from Char
lotte) will lead a sing-a long.
The orchestra will present a
trumpet quartet featuring so
loists Bruce Piner, Joey Rick
man, Tom Green and Karl
Metzgar. Other selections in
clude “Up, Up and Away”
by Rimer and “Waltzing
Cat” by Anderson.
A comical silent movie by
Harold Lloyd will feature
Prof Apperson at the organ.
The Emanons will play
“Stormy Weather” and
“Georgia,” arranged H*; La-
barbara and the disco tune “I

emotionally disturbed chil
dren? A representative from
the Jack and Ruth Eckcrd
Foundation will be on cam
pus Tue day, Nov. 13 to talk
with interested students about
the therapeutic wilderness
camping program. Coun
selors/teachers live with a
group, take part in canoe,
backpack, raft and bus trips
and generally become
“friends” of the children.
Camps are located in Florida,
North Carolina and Ver
mont.
A representative will be
interviewing interested stu
dents on Tuesday, Nov. 13
fiom 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

In the Oct. .18 issue of the
Pendulum, in “Spigle Back at
LRC,” several corrections
are in order. Ed Spigle did
not fin the job vacated by
Bob Wicker but filled a
newly created job for the
LRC. His duties include
supervision of checking out
and in of all audio visual
equipment and Spigle is in
charge of photography.
He directed one of the
Methodist camps. Camp
Rock Fish and also worked at
Custom Light and Sound.
Spigle is also in charape of
theatrical lighting and cam
pus lighting and sound.
