Com. 426, Advanced Edit ing and Editorial Writing will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays for three se mester hours credit at 11:40 a.m. The course emphasizes editing copy for newspapers, writing headlines, and writ ing editorials and other opinion articles for dailies and weeklies. Prerequisites are Com. 225, 32S and pro ficiency in granunar and typing. Bob Nowell will teach the course. Homecoming candidates cont. from p. 1 Woodle from the senior class. This course concentrates on plarming, writing and editing the employee publi cation for corporations as well as publications for non profit organizations such as the United Way and the American Red Cross. Be cause business communica tors often must be respon sible for additional print media, part of the coiu'se work covers the production of brochures, annual reports for employees, and special newsletters. Speakers and panelists from the Business Depart ment, from industries and non-profit agencies visit the class to bring current ideas and practice to the students. All class members work on a publication during the term and create a complete mock- up of a publication for the final examination. Dr. Mary E. Priestley teaches the course. An “I” grade signifies incomplete work because of illnes, emergency, extreme hardship, or self-paced courses. It is m given for a student missing the final examination unlq excused by the dean of academic affairs upon conununift tion from the student. The student receiving a grade of "p completes all work no later than nine class days afig mid-semester grades are due in the following semester.* final grade is submitted to the registrar by the instructor tii following Monday.
