f^age 10 f i-. ' The Pendulum Wrestling season starts slowly; new coach hopes for improvement The Elon College Fightin’ Christian wrestling team, under the direction of first- year coach Jim Richardson, has not begun the way he would like it to, but the wrestlers have plenty of time to make a com eback. The grapplers lost two matches last Monday against Pembroke State University, 42- 12, and against Hiram College, 42-9. On Nov. 29 the team was defeated by Livingstone Col lege which now makes their re cord 0-3. The team’s next match will be on Jan. 11 at home against Davidson College. Last year’s squad under the direction of Mike Cox finished the year with a 6-6-2 record. Right now the club is missing the high performance of Jay Lineberry, who is not eligible until February. Lineberry, a Southern Ala mance graduate, wrestles in the 126-pound class and last year was third in the NAIA nationals in his class and he is also a two-time All-American. Also returning for the Fight- in’ Christians is Jimmy Ambrose, 118, a South Carolina state champion in high school; Jeff May, 142, another former Southern Alamance state champ; Johnny Travis, 190, whom Richardson expects to contribute heavily to Elon’s cause this year. Newcomers to the team are Ken Griffin, 126, of Reidsville; Windy McCoy, 150, of Che sapeake, Va.; Ron Dudd, 158, of Woodbridge, N.J.; Tim Holmes, 177, of Durham; and Jay Gross, heavyweight, of Woodbridge also. The squad’s matches are held in the East Gj^ and the one Jan. 11 will begin at 4 p.m. ODK taps 25 Christmas story Continued from page Contiooed from page 1 administration major; Stephen D. She said, “There really isn’t anything that I want in particular. I’m just looking forward to going home, and being with my family.” Linda Feggans, a senior, is a first sergeant in ROTC.
