Thursday, February 14, 1985 ' • V The Pendulum Arts Page 5 Scottish group to perform FOUR MAN BAND - Members of the Scottish band “The Tannahill Weavers” play their traditional music which sounds a lot like bluegrass or rock and roll. The Scottish band, The Tan nahill Weavers, will perform traditional Celtic music to the beat of rock and roll in a con cert here next Monday night. The four-man band uses in struments ranging from bag pipes to bouzoullis to fiddles. They will appear at 8 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium in a free concert sponsored by SUB and the Lyceum Committee. Alan MacLeaod began the band in Paisley, Scotland, with his genius at the bagpipes and was later joined by Roy Gul- lane, with his guitar backing and vocal skills, and Phil Smith on flute. Having toured for three years. The Tannahills have performed in more than a dozen countries including Canada and Europe, and have produced five albums to date. It wasn’t until their fourth album, however, that the Tan nahills were introduced to American audiences in 1981. With their latest album, Pas sage, Doujie Madeun has been added to the group as their fid dler/guitarist.
