Page 2 The Pendulum Thursday, April 9^ ^ Editorials Frankly Speaking Spring has finally sprung! Well—it looks like spring has finally arrived for a second go-around at Elon. Winter’s return engagement seems to wearing out its welcome and the temperatures are becoming bearable once again. The campus seems to undergo a drastic transformation when the weather turns warm (or even lukewarm!). The glare off of white legs causes one to never be without a pair of trusty shades. It could be hazardous to one’s health to be without them. The number of people who find their way to class dwindles rapidly—especially during prime sun time! But, they only give themselves away when they come to class the next time with a third- degree sunburn. Students go from smdying algebra and English to studying the beach reports. How hot is it on the beach and how high are the waves? Yes, spring has sprung at dear ol’ Elon. It’s about time. Letter to the editor Student expresses thanks to those who gave blood I would like to express my gratitude to Elon students, facul ty, staff and community who donated to my father, Robert A. Hayes, on March 11 through the Red Cross Blood Drive. He will be the first Vance County (NC) citizen to receive a heart transplant. No date has been established for the transplant as he is currently recovering from a minor stroke which he suffered on March 1. BLOOM COUNTY wemveNomm IN comm, somrr okAY.. I would also like to encourage all who are not organ donors to consider the possibilty. It simply requires a response of “Yes” when asked upon having one’s driver’s license renewed. This act could very well save someone’s life- maybe even of someone you love. V Dot Hayes Hn- Orie, fnov-0 sJmhnon] fO . (din'vinc:!
