As those of you who have glanced at past issues oi The ^^ndulum may have noticed, we have a new look. This change can be attributed to two factors: (1) a complete lack of sleep on part of this week's tiny staff 2nd (2) a pair of spanking-new Apple Macintosh computers which are supposed to make our jobs much easier . . . and they (b! We are truly excited about pur new equipment, and we intend to use it to make a more attractive, more readable, more Jl^der-oriented paper. In order to o this, though, we need help. Our primary concern is building a strong staff. We are currently seeking individuals ‘nterested in reporting, art, photography, layout design, advertising sales, typesetting, and just about anything else you can ‘uiagine. And—here's the kicker—you ^on t have to be a journalism or communications major to work for a college paper. You don't ®ven need prior experience, business majors can use their skills in our advertising apartment, people interested in computers can certainly lend a and, and those individuals with an artisitic flair can draw and design. Mindy Schneeberger Editor Phil Woods Qunitet John McCutcheon Concert for the Earth Sept. 12 8:00 p.m. Sept. 18 8:00 p.m. Fine Arts Theatre Fine Arts Theatre A Movie Marathon Extravaganza will take place in Whitley Auditorium on Friday night, 7:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. SUB Club will open its season Saturday, September 2, with a performance in the Back Door (located in Harper Center). The fun begins at 9.00 p.m. The Women's Soccer team with play an "away" game at the College of Boca Raton, at 3:00 p.m. College Chapel will begin its Tuesday morning services on September 5 at 9:00 a.m. in Whitley Auditorium. Rape Crisis Rlliance of Blamanco Countg will conduct training for new volunteer counselors and community education speakers on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning September 18th. Trainees will learn about the legal, medical, and psychological aspects of rape. Counseling skills and public speaking skills are also included. Following training, volunteers may choose to counsel with victims or conduct community education programs on sexual assualt. Rape Crisis relies heavily on volunteers to carry out its mission of prevention, education, interagency coordinations, and services for persons concerned with or exp>eriencing sexual assualt.
