Organizations join together
for greek week activities

What is Greek Week? "Greek
"^cek is a time when all of the
S^eek organizations get together to
compete and have a good time,"

This yearly event will be held
pril 15 . 21. Many of its
^aditions will still be upheld,
although some changes have been
made.
More organizations have been
asked to participate. Alpha Kappa
Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta have
joined together to participate in
certain events. Omega Psi Phi,
Kappa Alpha Psi and Alpha Phi
Alpha have also joined together to
compete against others.
"Since these sororities and
fraternities aren't as large as
others, they will be able to join
together to compete," said Nancy
Stockdell, student coordinator of
Greek Week.
Another change that has
taken place is eligibility. It used
to be if you participated in an
Elon sport, you would not be able
to compete in that sport during
Greek Week. Now everyone will
be able to participate. "The
committee decided to let everyone
participate," Stockdale said. "It
wasn’t fair to not let someone
participate just because they had a
talent."
While most of the events are
the same for fraternities and
sororities, there are a few
differences. "The sororities voted
this year to do a lot of the same
events as fraternities," Strosnider
said. "The only events the girls
aren't doing are the three jumping
events and golf."
The official schedule of events
for Greek Week will be out on
Friday, April 12.
