This is the second lime the Jones brothers have held the Horror Show. According to the Times-News, almost 10,000 people attended last year. This are coming from out of state to see the show. The brothers started working on the house in August and have added another building which includes seven to eight rooms from last year for a total of thirteen rooms plus a walkway. The rooms include a laboratory, mummy room, crypt room, a room for Freddy, and a graveyard. The Jones brothers had always been fascinated with make-up and special effects, but their first encounter came when as children, they visited the set of the movie, "The Killers Three," which starred Dick Clark. Since then, they have created a com pany called Die-Ak- Tion. Starr says this word originated in the 1930s and means a group of artists that join together to create one piece of art. With this com pany, the brothers do special effects and fashion make-up. They decided to create this haunted house in order to bring some of their talents to their home town. Starr Jones said that friends, high school students, and relatives volunteer their services, but the mechanical work is done by them. Starr says he enjoys the haunted house because it makes people scared, but there is humor incorporated as well. He said, "There are two things you can always count on...people want to be scared and they want to laugh." He added that this is incorporated in the laboratory in which people's brains are transported from one pod to another. Some people gel so seared that they have to laugh.
