Elon is in an era of change.
The view from Chandler residence
hall to Alamance represents the
cosmetic changes that arc rapidly
advancing the college into the
future.
However, the changes in the
Elon's academic program is
expected to have a profound effect
on the students currently enrolled
and those planning to enter in the
fall of 1994.
Last month Dr. Fred Young
spoke at the opening convocation
on the development of the new
academic program and the strive
toward academic challenge in a
more demanding system.
"We need tough love- not
unreasonable standards, but high
standards, high expectations-
while maintaining our traditional
strength of mentoring and
personal concern," Young said.
