August 27,1998 Duhlberg's travels bring her to the Love School of Business Profile Get involved early! Write for The Pendulum! Come to Moseley 233 or call x2331 Julie Koch The Pendulum The summer brought many changes to Elon’s campus and curriculum including the addition of staff member Judy Duhlberg. Duhlberg, the new part time secretary of the Love School of Business, will be handling affairs dealing with Elon’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. With a degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University, Duhlberg has undergone a wide variety of career moves. From travel agencies to administrative positions, the Pennsylvania native’s qualifications coincide with the workload of the MBA program as well as the structure of the business school. After college graduation, Duhlberg was offered jobs in her field; however, she chose not to stay in accounting as she enjoys the interaction with other people. Her career moves and those of her husband took her from their small northern town to the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles. Duhlberg moved to North Carolina 10 years ago, switch ing from Burlington to Chapel Hill before deciding to perma nently reside in Elon. The timing seemed to fit, as Duhlberg then decided to return to work and the Love School of Business was in need of another secretary. “I really like the campus atmosphere and the people here are great,” Duhlberg said. “ Just in the week I have been here, it seems so much more personal (than Penn State University) and they (the faculty) really care about the stu dents.” This observation comes from a person who never knew her adviser in college and said she was known as a number to most of her professors. Duhlberg’s many job opportunities have led her to different interests and hobbies such as traveling and garden ing. She has visited most of the Caribbean Islands on various cruises as well as Cancun; however, if she could go anywhere in the world, Duhlberg would be on the first flight out to Tahiti. Duhlberg is also currently planning her first trip to Europe, which will take place in September. Duhlberg’s other passions include gardening, looking at college campuses and open houses. She was also able to fulfill one of her dreams as she and her husband recently designed and built their own home. Though Duhlberg will be spending most of her time working with MBA students, there is a possibility of Duhlberg getting involved with other Elon activities or even enrolling in classes herself. In the meantime, however, Duhlberg will be familiar izing herself with her work and new faces. ♦ CAREER DIRECTIONS ♦ ELON CAREER CENTER-313 E.
