The demoli tion may take affect this summer. No reason has been given for the change. There are no specific plans on where Health Services would be moved. Elon is having a difficult time finding a location. Previous ideas have been to renovate the exsisting building or use a space in Moseley. One idea was to put the department in the old Winn-Dixie behind the local Pizza Hut. That would make Health Services about a half a mile west of campus. Dr. Ellington feels that a “good health room setup is vital to a college.” He feels that the current location is “warm and inviting.. .convenient,” and “where a health organization should be. ” In several emergency calls nurses have had to run to the dorms to help students. Many students are just walking by the building and stop by to have something checked out early. The move may discourage students from coming in early and they will wait until their symptoms are much more severe.
