News February 25, 1999 from ELECTIONS, page 1 Akilah Weaver won an un contested race for Executive Vice- president and LaRhonda Johnson won the Executive Secretary posi tion, which was also an uncontested race. Jim Crotts was the winner of the contested Executive Treasurer race, defeating candidates Kendra Freeland and Josh Phoebus. “I feel very honored to be come the next treasurer and I hope to do a good job for the students in that role,” Crotts said. “I would like to thank every one who came out and voted for me,” Phoebus said. “I congratulate Jim Crotts on a well run campaign and I wish him the best of luck as treasurer next year.” For the rising senior class, Tracy Cournoyer was elected class president. For the rising junior class, Bekah Hanlon was elected presi dent, Lisa Fort was elected vice- president and Kenny Brown and Katherine Purcell were elected sena tors. For the rising sophomore class, Hillary Sherman was elected president, Katie Sullivan was elected vice-president, Mohan Sreenivasan was elected secretary/ treasurer and Winston Ford, Katie McConville and Donald Wickline were elected senators. In the Academic Council races, Maureen Hass and Matt Syno were elected Education/HPEL rep resentatives and Dennis Burlew and Michiel Wackers were elected So cial Sciences representatives. “I’m pleased with the way the elections went,” Jeff Angel, SGA Executive Treasurer and Elections Committee Chair, said. “I think we got some good candidates elected and I’m eager to see what happens in the run-off.” Student Government Association Executive President Run-Off Vote for John Gardner or Corbie Meadows TODAY ONLY! Another issue concerning this illness that affects students is the fact that Health Services does not issue excuses. Health Services will provide documentation that states that the student was at the center, and how long he or she was there^ Dean Patterson recommends that the student retain the docu mentation to present to any profes sor that requests it. Health Services encourages any student that is experiencing flu-line syrnptoms to report to Health Services immediately. Early treatment is often the key to quicker patient recuperation. »In the Oct. 15,1998 issue of The Pendulum, the name of one of the former presidents of Elon College was misspelled. Emmett Leonidas Moffitt was president of Elon College from 1905-1911. ^In the Feb, IS, 1999 issue, there was a misprint in the article on page ID about Cinelon.
