'Lend Me a Tenor' an excellent show Carol)ai Lampila The Pendulum Eight Elon College students displayed their acting and singing talents in “Lend Me aTenor,” Thurs day through Sunday, April 15-18. I met several members of the editoral staff of The Pendulum Fri day night to support our colleague, Chuck Buckley and the rest of the cast. TitoMerelli (Sam Wood), the famous and beloved Italian singer, comes from Italy to perform in a concert that Saunders (Buckley) is organizing. However, chaos erupts when Merelli appears dead. At Saunders’ demand, Max (Nathan Moore) disguises himself as Merelli and sings at the show. During the concert, Merelli wakes up and tries to get to the concert. However, no one believes Merelli when he said who he was becuase Max is doing a wonderful job at imitating him. Merelli dresses in an identical disguise as Max. One of the highlights of “Lend Me a Tenor,” was when Maggie, played by Amanda War ren, and Diana, played by Marisa Moss, both try to hook-up with Merelli. The only problem is nei ther one realizes they are coming on to both the fake and real Merelli who keep switching places. At the end of the play, the cast performed a quick version of the play, including all of the hilarious highlights. I laughed harder than I have in months throughout this perfor mance. Wood and Moore were both hilarious as they interacted with Warren and Moss, who were also excellent in their roles. Ct)rey Bra dley played an excellent and hilari ous role as the bellhop, who along with several girls, lusts after Merelli. Buckley I have enjoyed all of the plays that I have seen in the last two years at Elon, and “Lend Me a Tenor” definitely did not let me down. Everyone I talked to after the per formance agreed with me that all of the cast members were excellent. WSOE 89.3 Top Ten 1. The Montgomeiy "Dock of the Bay" Bums Band 2.
