Wilkes is the visiting professor of Creative Writing at UNC-Wilmingon. Wednesday, November 1 Joe Clark, Laying Down the Law Whitley Auditorium, 7:30 p.m. The controversial, bat-wielding former principal of Eastside High School in Patterson, NJ was the subject of the hit movie Lean on Me. Showcase: Elon’s Chorale, Camerata, Percussion Ensemble and Alumni Whitley Auditorium, 7:30 p.m Conductor Stephen A. Futrell will direct selections from the African Sanctus and the St. Frances Mass of the Americas with percussion ensemble. Elon College Choir alumni are invited to join the choirs on several pieces, including Aaron Copland’s The Promise of Living.
