Sept. 27, 2001 Arts & Entertainment Page 17 Literary magazine unveils special retrospective anthology issue Jason Chick A&E Editor Tuesday afternoon, Colon nades, the literary and art jour nal of Elon, unveiled Volume 52, the 2001 special anthology edition. The retrospective anthology includes selected works from previous Colonnades including a reprint of Colonnade’s first cover, published in 1937. “This year, we have included works from almost every edi tion of Colonnades since its ap pearance on campus. Since this will be the last year Elon will be known as Elon College, the staff felt that it was appropri ate to investigate the lost works printed in Colonnades over the decades and weave them to gether,” Joy Kress said in her letter from the editor printed in the front of the journal. This year’s staff also in cluded Michelle Pautz, poetry editor; Traci Hauser, fiction editor; Sarah Emerson and Phelps, fiction editor; Sarah attach a separate index card for Jennifer Guarino/Managing Editor Joy Kress, editor-in-chief, and Micl Marlier display Colonnades. Joanna Penick, art and photog raphy editors; Jacob Jarvis and Joy Kress, layout and design editors. Johannah Lawrence, first- place fiction winner, read a se lection from her piece “One Ripening Season.” Elizabeth Scott received second place for her piece, “An Impressive Pile of Shells.” At the end of the semester, Kress will hand her leading role to Mick Marlier. To submit work to Col onnades write you social se curity number, not your name, on the top of the first page of your work. All work must be typed and submitted on a computer disk with an attached hard copy. The deadline for the Spring 2002 issue is Dec. 7.
