Page 20 • P>iday, August 23, 2002 The Pendulum Phoenix fly into new season Elon football is ready to bounce back from its 2-9 record during the 2001-2002 season. “It’s not a sin to get knocked down,” coach A1 Seagraves said. “It is a sin to stay down. The Phoenix are ready to rise again.” The team has 18 returning players, but Seagraves said he has not settled on a quarterback. “We have two weeks to decide who’s going to take that ball and lead us out on that field,” Seagraves said. The team has three preseason scrimmages on its schedule. “We eager ly anticipate the start of the season,” Seagraves said. ‘We love this game of football and we play and coach it with a passion.” A Phoenix player practices the proper tacllir)g technique.
