Papa Roach rocks the
Winston-Salem crowd
Nonpoint’s set was over, the
time all of the fans had been
waiting for arrived. Papa
Roach took the stage.
Papa Roach opened their
set with a song off their new
album “Lovehatetragedy,”
“Time and Time Again.”
As soon as the band
launched into the song, the
club began to rock. Hands
went up in the air, heads nod
ded, and everyone jumped off
the ground and sang along.
Papa Roach closed the con
cert with their popular hits,
“Last Resort” and “Between
Angels and Insects.”
“I’ve never seen a venue
quite like this. I’m sitting up
there and I’m looking into the
crowd and I can see every sin
gle person’s face out there,
David Buckner, drummer of
Papa Roach, said.
The tour made its second
North Carolina stop in
Winston-Salem, having made
stops in Charlotte and
Charleston, S.C., before mov
ing north to Norfolk, Va.,
Washington, D.C., and
Philadelphia.
Papa Roach will end the
Lovehatetragedy Tour with
Reach 454 and Nonpoint in
Colorado in mid-April.

People piled to the front of
the line at Ziggy’s in
Winston-Salem Sunday night
as the popularity of Papa
Roach increases along their
Lovehatetragedy Tour.
Die-hard fans arrived as
early as 2:30 p.m. to catch a
moment with the Papa Roach
band members, Coby
Shaddix, Jerry Horton, David
Buckner and Tobin Esperance
before they headed inside
Ziggy’s for a sound check.
The line in front of the
door began forming before 5
p.m. until the doors finally
opened at 7:30 p.m. and fans
began running in to find spots
in the front and center of the
stage.
Reach 454 opened the hard
rock show with seven songs
that will be appearing on the
upcoming debut album.
“Bands have to be good to
their fans. We always stay
behind to sign autographs and
hang out with them,” Danny
Martinez, bass player of
Reach 454, said.
Nonpoint then took the
stage to bring the energy up
even more for fans, as mosh
pits broke out and crowd surf
ing began. Nonpoint per
formed a 30-minute set.
But shortly after

Koldewyn during her performance Feb. 26 in Whitley Auditorium. Reichert is a singer and actress
who combined spirituality and the arts during her presentation. Using the methods of storytelling,
song and dance, Rebhert was able to convey a spiritual message through her music. Reichert
released an album recently, “Oh My Wings, ” and is an ordained minister with the United Church of
Christ. She has also appeared in several Broadway shows and has been featured in motion pic
tures including ‘The Associate" and “First Wives Club." The presentation was sponsored by the
Chaplain's office.
