Over 1,100 parents and high
school seniors visited campus last
Friday and Saturday for orienta
tion activities.
Future students took tours of the
campus and residence halls and
attended sessions discussing
internships, work experience,
leadership, study abroad, student
undergraduate research, service
learning, learning communities,
campus recreation, club and intra
mural sports, religious life, cam
pus technology, majors offered
and how to survive or not survive
in college.
Students also took the new com
puter-based foreign language
assessment and had their Phoenix
card photos taken. The new fresh
men also met with their academic
advisers and student assistants to
discuss fall courses of study.
Parents toured campus and
attended informational sessions
with the future students. However,
they also attended special pro
grams designed for them such as
discussions about engaged aca
demic learning, a view of Elon
from students and advisors and a
question and answer session with
deans.
The $300 enrollment deposit for
freshmen is due May 1 and hous
ing applications are due June 1.
Move-in day and freshman orien
tation begins Aug. 26.
