the album, Sirnon was the recording
engineer and edited half the tracks on the
album.
The first of four recording sessions
occurred in March 2005 and the last was
in October. Each weekend consisted of
four 12-15 hour days in the studio. With
the help of Bryan Baker, Elon’s senior
audio producer. Twisted Measure was
able to record the entire album in the
Elon University recording studio.
After the songs were recorded and
edited, they were taken by student pro
ducer Brian Hecker to Raleigh to be
mixed. The mixing took place with
award-winning a cappella producer Dave
Sperandio of Divorce Inc. Hecker drove
to Raleigh twice a week in order to mix
and master the CD with Sperandio.
“We decided to take more paying
aiss raise our concert prices and we
even decided to go on fall break tours m
order to raise money, which have also
proven to be a lot of fun,” Senior Jenny
Freeman said. Along with these gigs,
Piracy’ CD Dec. 1
with upcoming CD release
Twisted Measure has performed at
Cantina Roble, Midnight Meals and
local schools.
“’Barefoot and Beautiful’ was a great
first CD for Twisted Measure. However,
it was recorded in three days and edited'
and mixed in about a month. The group
decided that we wanted to put out a bet
ter product so we decided to'take our
time with the process in order to produce
the most quality CD we could,” said sen
ior Brian Hecker.
The CD includes fan favorites such as
“Accidentally in Love,” “Seasons” and
“Kid Fears.”
