S£K)AT£ The Senate sv/lngs back Into action tonight when four Constitutional amendments will come on the floor for discussion and vote. If the amendments pass, they will be put to vote by the student body on the following week. An amendment passed by the Senate two weeks ago which.deals with the dates of spring elections x^^lll also come up fbr a student body vote at that time. The measures coming up tonight Include a preamble for the SGA Constitu tion, an article to be included in the Constitution to set up a name for the student organization, and the division of the office of secretary-treasurer into two offices. These measures were drawn up by Vice-President, Lynn Ryals. Another measure coming up^ tonight calls for the appropriation of funds for May Day. This bill is authored by Senator ¥ally Sax^yer. A measure stipulating the'correct format for future measures in the Senate iirill also come up for vote. Senator Melvin Shreves is the sponsor of this bill. Senator Mike Herbert's bill to set up a standard oath to be administered by all judicial bodies within SG will come up at the same time. New measures which are expected'include one that will re-organize the Ken's Interdormitory Cpuhcil..'Since this too is a Constitutional amendment,it >rlll be brought up for vot6 by the student body at a later date in April. Senator Ken Lumpkin will intorduce the Honor System Revision Committee's bill to change the organization and selection of members of the Honor Council and the Student Council. This bill will call for the complete revision of Article IL of the SG Constitution. It is expected that this measure will be taken out of committee so that the Senate can act on the bill as a committee. If passed, the amendment xfill come up for vote by the students sometime next week. Editor's Note; The student body will be voting on a considerable number of amendments; according to this Senate report. Students are urged to inform themselves on these measures so that they can vote intelligently. Student Affoi rs Committee Neujs February 18, 1963 . The committee reviewed the results of the student opinion poll taken February 5 on extending the examination schedule. Bob Gwaltney said he would draw up a list of pertinent comments based on the poll and on information from other colleges on their examination schedules to be considered next meeting. A rfeport was read from the subcommittee on setting up special areas for study. A motion was made by Mrs. Epperson that we adopt the report with a recommendation to the subcommittee to supply certain specific statements: 1. the announcement of new study rules to the students as being on a trial basis. (Marxih-Easter); 2. the possibility of adding more rooms during exam ination; 3e the checking of all study rooms at specified hours, day and night, by the Pinkerton men. -A recommendation was made to Dean Moore that he speak with I4r.Davis concerning bookstore hours at night and seeing that all text books are up on the shelves for sale in time for the first day of classes each semester. The committee decided to recommend to Mr.I^ells that the snack bar be open on Sundays from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. rather than from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Discussion was held concerning the care of the furniture in the Student Union and in Mooney Lounge. A motion was made by Kathy Sandefur that the chairman appoint a subcommittee to work on the problem and bring recommen dations to the committee. Bob Gwaltney asked the committee to be thinking about having the Art Forum series planned at least one year ahead of schedule. I^rs. Epperson raised (Questions on old business: the letter to incoming students on the Honor Code, the I.D. cards, and the adding of a freshman re presentative to the Student Affairs Committee.
