Yes 181 No 148 a) Did you attend last year's Saturday night dance? Yes 102 1^0 269 b) Do you PIan to attend this year's Saturday night dance? Yes 178 No 142 •'I'he nonnt concerning preference is not available, but was reported as first, concert; second, afternoon activities; third, dance. In answer to the question, "I'lJhat changes would you like to see in this activity?", fourty-four (44) students replied that they would like a better band for the dance’. Fifty (50) said the afternoon activities should be excluded, and ten students wanted to omit the dance. Casual dress for the dance was suggested by nineteen (V9) students, and seven (7) proposed "better talent" for the concert. When considering these results, there are several points that must be remembered: , , 1. Freshmen answers to questions "a" were naturally "no". 2. Many students did not fill out the entire blank. 3. A fair number of students did not give definite answers. 4. Those who participated in last year's afternoon activities did not necessarily go to the activities of their own will. 5. Comments indicated that many students did not take the evaluation seriously. - Students were asked, during the evaluation poll, to give any constructive criticism or suggestion they might have concerning improvement of. May Day aqtivities. There were quite a few comments—how many iwere cpnstructive depends on personal point of view. Nevertheless, some of the comments, or wisecracks, are worth repeating. In response to the question, "What changes would you like in the concert, if any?", one student replied, "How aboUt some decent talent this May Day-- r^ise our fees or something." Obviously he doesn't spend all that money he s^ems to have on"Letterman" albums. Another student asked that ;there be a clause in the contract of the .group presented insuring.at least one encore. This was thoughtful, but most groups usually' do plan at least on6;; encore to begin with. Several students, perhaps fan club members, had ready sugges tions for entertainment including, "Get Peter, Paul, and Mary", "Get. Elvis", (4-very loyal but old-fashioned fan), "I'd like The Brothers Four", and "We want the CHAD MITCHELL TRIO!".(Three fans apparently all sitting together had this plea scribbled in every blahk space.) Many indicated that they want t«» hear more of the "Lettermen". Last—but not least by ANY means—the"Bea~ ties " were suggested. (Maybe they could be combined with a barbershop quartet.
