Miss Fayetteville State
Alpha Phi Alpha Sweetheart
Miss Senior
The charming Miss Gwendolyn
Peaton represents the entire stu
dent body as “Miss Fayetteville
State College.” Miss Peaten also
represents the Phi Beta Sigma
Fraternity as the Sigma Sweet
heart. She is a resident of Fayette
ville, a senior, and a major in Ele
mentary Education. This buoyant
personality is affiliated with the
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and the Day
Student Organization.
“Miss Homecoming,” the beau
tiful and dignified Miss Mary Ray,
is from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Miss Ray is an Elementary Educa
tion major and is classified as a
Junior. When asked how she felt
about being “Miss Homecoming,”
her reply was “It is such a wonder
ful honor, and I do hope that the
young lady who wears the crown
next year will cherish the crown^
as well as the honor, as much as I
do.”
Miss Eva M. McEachern, the at
tractive and sophisticated senior
from Fayetteville, N. C., was chos
en by the members of the Alpha
Phi Alpha Fraternity as their
“Miss Alpha Phi Alpha.” Eva is an
Elementary Education major, a
member of the Day Student Organ
ization, AKA Sorority, the college
choir, the Yearbook Staff, and
serves as news and feature editors
of our own “Voice Staff.”
Miss Sophomore
Ml
“Miss Sophomore,” is the lovely
Miss Alma Butler from Raeford,
N. C. When asked by one of our re
porters how she felt about being
the sweetheart of that huge Sopho
more Class, she replied “Gee, I
feel just great.” Miss Butler is an
Elementary Education major, and
is a member of the Baptist Student
Union.
The Scrollers Club of the Kappa
Alpha Psi Fraternity chose as their
sweetheart the pretty Miss Helen
Moore. Miss Moore is a native of
Wilmington, N. C., and is now a
member of the Ivy Leaf Club and
has high hopes of becoming an
“AKA” this fall.
Miss Barbara Harris, a native of
Wilson, N. C. represents well the
senior class of FSC. Barbara is a
member of the Archonian Club of
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Future
Alumni Association, and Student
NEA.
The Kappa Alpha Psi Sweetheart
is Peggy McPhail, a junior from
Clinton, N. C. Peggy, who finds
time between studies to work
actively with her sorority, Alpha
Kappa Alpha, says, I am truly hon
ored to have been chosen by the
members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fra
ternity to represent them. I shall
do my utmost to prove worthy of
this honor.”
