First, they all were recently selected to Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities; secondly, all are honor roll and Dean’s List students; thirdly, they all belong to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; and fourthly, all of them finished South Iredell (County) High School. However, there is one difference, only Sharon and Colette are sisters but all of them are good friends. (FSU Photo by John Henderson) TITLE IX Acting at the request of President Ford, HEW’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has prepared a document providing guidance to schools and colleges on eliminating sex discrimination in athletic programs under Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972. In order for Fayetteville State University to comply with Title IX and to bring the women’s athletic program to the necessary level, we would like to encourage all in terested women to try out for track, tennis, golf, and basketball. In addition to women athletes, the Athletic Department is actively seeking women volunteers from the faculty to coach women’s teams in these sports. Anyone interested please contact Dr. Joe R.
