Pegues MISS SOUL PHI SIGMA WHO^S WHO Thirty-five Fayetteville State University (N.C.) students have been named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. According to University Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. DeField T. Holmes, this national scholastic body honors college and university students who have been identified as outstanding scholars and campus leaders during their college careers. To meet these qualifications, the Provost stated, the students must be a junior or senior; have a least a 3.0 grade point average; have good moral character; be active in several campus organizations; have at least one year of study at the recommending University, and have not been previously elected to Who’s Who. Sigma*s Attend Worhshop Michael Bryant a member of PI Chapter, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. attended the Annual State Workshop for Sigma’s December 4, 1976. The workshop was held on the campus of St. Augustine’s College, Shaw University, and the Inner City Club. Bryant was accompanied by Mr. Irving Veazie, Advisor for PI Chapter. Miss Senior Yvonne Gibson, a native of Salina, Kansas, was recently selected as “MISS SENIOR” at FSU. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Angel Flight and ROTC. Yvonne was “MISS ANGEL FLIGHT” during her sophomore year and “MISS ROTC” during her junior year. Her hobbies are ballet, traveling, and writing. Veazie Gets Award Mr. Irving Veazie, Director of the Rudolph Jones Student Center has received the “Certificate of Recognition” from the Southeastern Regional Director of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Veazie was cited for his outstanding contribution to the progress of this community through chapter interests and dedicated work. MISS ALPHA ANGELS Brenda Williams, a native of Greenbrier, Arkansas was recently selected as “MISS ALPHA ANGELS” at FSU. Brenda is a Sociology Major. Brenda S. Pegues, a native of Laurinburg, N.C., was selected “MISS SOUL PHI SIGMA” at FayettevilUe State University. Brenda is a Business Education Major. She was born under the sign of Pisces and her hobbies are reading, singing, and dancing.
