Jordan, Jr., Executive Director of the National Urban League. He will be introduced by Dr. Charles “A” Lyons, Jr., Chancellor of Fayetteville State Univeristy. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jordan received the undergraduate degree from DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind. and the degree of law (JD) from Howard University. Assistant Superintendent for Teacher Education with the N.C. State Department of Public Instruction, confers recently on campus with FSU Chan cellor Charles “A” Lyons, Jr. and Dr. Minnie T. Forte, Chairman of the FSU Education Department. The purpose of the one-day visit by Dr. Koontz and her staff was to access the strengths and weaknesses of the education program at the institution. His weekly newspaper column, “To Be Equal,” appears in 120 newspapers and he has written extensively on national issues for major publications. Prior to assuming the position with the National Urban League, Jordan was Executive Director of United Negro College Fund; Director of Voter Education Project; Southern Regional Council, Attorney-Consultant, US Office of Economic Op portunity; and Georgia Field Director, National Association for the Ad vancement of Colored People. He has also done private law practice in Georgia and Arkansas.
