Bronco Cadets On The Move
This semester may have
appeared to start off too
slowly. However, the
Bronco Cadets of Fayette
ville State Detachment 607
(FSU Det. 607) are on the
move with swift and
smooth Strides. Read
further to find out why the
Bronco Cadets are moving
with such style.
The Bronco Cadets
really have much to boast
about. Enrollment in both
the General Military Cadet
(GMC) program and the
new Professional Officer
Candidate (POC) pro
grams for this term
reached record highs. In
both the POC and GMC
programs, approximately
fifty percent are females.
The Group Commander
for the Fall of 1980 is
Cadet/Colonel, (C/Col.)
Ira Nichols, a senior
majoring in political
science. C/Col. Nichols Isa
prior service Cadet and is
excited about being Group
Commander. He has
pledged to work diligently
to prepare the Bronco
Cadets to become well
groomed future Second
Lieutenants in the United
States Air Force (U.S.A.F.)
Much of the credit for
the large enrollment goes
to the recruiting efforts
made last semester. For
example, many of the new
POC's are majoring in
areas such as Business
Administration, Sociology,
and Mathematics. From
this range of majors, there
are many potential Cadets
to select from.
Col. Battle and his staff
along with the Bronco
Cadets are planning
another successful seme
ster of recruiting potential
cadets. Their efforts will be
to make the students aware
of the many opportunities
and benefits of joining the
AFROTC program. For
more information about
the AFROTC program,
come by FSU Detachment
607 Women's Gym.
The following is a list of
the Air Force 2nd Lieute
nants who were commis
sioned from FSU Det. 607
in May of 1980. Look for
bigger and better things
from the FSU Bronco
Cadets as they keep on the
move.
