FSU Crowns Homecoming
Queen
by Jaime Cruz-Morales
One of the cornerstones of
Fayetteville State’s homecoming ac
tivities is the crowning of the Home
coming Queen, who presides over the
remainder of the Homecoming activi
ties. On the night of October 19,
Latonya McNeill was crowned as the
Matriarch of Homecoming ’95.
The theme of the 1995 Coronation
Ball was “Love Cruise,,. In accordance
with this theme, a stage was built in
the shape of a cruise ship deck, where
the queens and escorts could display their beauty and charm. Vocal perfor
mances were provided as intermissions between the introductions.
As the night lengthened, the crowd became anxious for the crowning of the
new queen. Their patience was duly rewarded as Mr. Ricardo Morgan an
nounced Latonya McNeill as the new Homecoming Queen. Tawnya Green and
Oneika Mack-Humphrey held 2nd and 1st runnetriip positions respectively.
