CHEERLEADERS Any student interested in being a cheerleader will try out, and mem bers of the faculty and the Stude n t Government officers will vote on the best qualified people. Six people will be chosen, two boys and four girls. To be qualified for cheerleader, a "C average must be main tained, Cheerleaders must be viva cious, interested in their school, able to travel to out-of-town games, and be prepared to purchase an inexpensive cheerleading outfit. Those interested can see Mrs. Lancaster in the Directed Studies Lav. Try-outs will be held early in the fall quarter. The time and place will be announced in the daily bulletin, ilC (Cont. page l) In the interest of all concerned, this new center is established as a new concept of learning. The principle objective will be to make available to all the students material of various types, including book and non-book resources. As another added phase to keep up with the philosophy of a comprehensive community college, the Wajme Comnanity College Learning Resource Cent e r opens the door of opportunity for YOU, Any suggestions for improvements in the WCC newspaper are to be given to Jim Quillin, next editor. Any stories or ideas for stories are to be submitted in the Dean of Students' office. JUNIOR AMERICAN DENTAL HYGIENISTS* ASSOCIATION The Wayne Community College Chapter of the Junior American Dental Hygienists* Association serves the college's dental hygiene students in many ways. The Jr, ADHA functions in the college under its own constitution but is directly affiliated with the National Association, The association's constitution is the detei^ning factor when questions arise and serves as the organization's guideline. Even thou^ the college's association is based on scholastic involvement in the field of dentistry, it serves also as a sourcecf extracurricular activity, Throu^ this association, the school's dental hygiene students are brought together for social activity as well. At the organization's meetings, uniforms are chosen, caps purchased, and professionsQ. pin are selected. Many interesting speakers are presented at the association at their meetings. The dental department's "little sister” pi^sgram is the responsibility of this association. This program helps in troduce new students to the field they have chosen and to the school they Ibkb selected. Personal involvement is stress ed in this organization. The enthusiasm exemplified in the members of the association is due to each one's feeling of pride in being a member of such an exciting field, Jr, ADHA President, Gail Hardy
