Enrollment declined slightly
by Daniel Heffner
Fall quarter enrollment
for 1989 is 2,180, down
slightly from the 2,229
that were enrolled fall
1988.
Expectations of faculty
and administration were
high after last year's
peak.
The program wi th the
largest increase is college
transfer which has nearly
doubled in the past two
years.
At the same time, the
technical programs have
declined to such a degree
that the numbers in the two
programs are virtually the
same.
Shirley Boyd, Vice
President for Instructional
Services said, “1 expect
that trend to continue as
long as tuition at four
year institutions continues
to increase."
She also added, “I
expect that there will be
an increase in enrollment
next year since the new
campus will have a greater
stab i1 i ty.“
