On Thursday, September
20, 1990, the Multi
cultural Association -for
Enrichment (MCAE) hosted a
get-acquainted hour -for the
minority freshmen students.
Janice Hill, Counselor,
0-f-fice o-f Minority A-f-fairs,
welcomed 22 faculty and
sta-f-f and 35 students who
attended.
She explained that the
purpose o-f the get-together
was to acquaint students
both with each other and
with the services available
to minority students.

club, and Gerald Heath, Co-
Advisor, introduced -faculty
and sta-f-f in positions to
help minority students,
including Yvonne Goodman,
Finanical Aid and Personnel
Director; Directed Studies
Coordinator Saundra Smith;

counselor Annette Lewis who

been elected Treasurer of
District 12 of the North
Caroli na unit.
District 12, the largest
district in the state, has
350 members.
Lutz-'s responsibilities
during her one-year term
will include keeping dis
trict level financial
records, registration at
district annual meetings,
and other duties.
Frances Allen, secretary
to the Dean of Curriculum,
and another WCCAEOP member,
has been awarded a plaque
for recruiting the most
local members for 1990.
