Atkins replied," I see
none. People don't
change their sexual
behavior until they see
•someone they love die."
When asked how he
reacted to the news of
his parents illness,
John David said," I
felt like I had been
hit in the face by an
18-wheeler, but once I
came to grip with the
reality, I knew I'd
never take my parents
love or hugs for
granted again."
Dr. Hogan responded
to the closing question
which asked for a
reason why AIDS
existed.
He quoted Elizabeth
Kiibler-Ross : " AIDS is
here to teach us
unconditional love."
In closing, Hogan
turned to the Duncan
family and said," They
are giving their lives
and making themselves
vulnerable to teach us
about unconditional
love."
CLEP tests
offered for
first time
By ROBIN STILWELL
For the first time,
WCC is offering a test
that gives credit for a
course.
It's called CLEP, an
acronym for College
Level Examination
Program.
WCC offers the
testing once a month at
a cost of $40 each,
though some courses are
not available through
CLEP testing.
If WCC does not
offer a subject,
Seymour Johnson AFB may
have the subject
available for testing.
Students interested
in CLEP testing should
contact Vicki Lassiter
in Student Services.

The test, which WCC
personnel administer,
each takes li to 2
hours to complete,
according to Dawson.
Then the test is
sent to the Educational
Testing Service with
the results being
mailed to the student
about 4 to 6 weeks
later.
Norma Dawson, who
gives the test, said
"CLEP testing is very
successful and a good
opportunity to get
ahead."
Students have 3 days
to register before the
day of testing.
The next testing
will be held Thursday,
May 19, for the summer
quarter.
