Ambassadors raise money
for student scholarships
By LESLIE LANE
The Wayne Ambassadors
sponsored a pizza-soda sale on
Friday, April 7. According to Carl
Brow, counselor and adviser to
the group, the money raised from
this event will go toward
scholarship funds for the fall
semester.
To become an ambassador,
students must go through an
application process. Brow said
that being accepted is based on
important factors such as the
GPA, references, and an
interview.
Present Ambassadors include
Sara Beth Grey, Lucy Himes,
Robert Gibson, Leigh Anne
Quinn, and Ginger DeVore.
The Wayne Ambassadors serve
an important role at WCC and in
the community. They facilitate
events at WCC and contribute to
the goodwill of the community.
Brow said.
Benefits of being an ambassador
include “building comfort levels in
formal social situations, providing
an outlet for servicing the
community, building resumes, and
free tuition,” according to Brow.
Ann Marie Beall, college transfer counselor from
UNC'Wilimington, advises Sarah Beth Gray about
transferability of Gray's credits. Counselors from
other colleges who made visits included those from
ECU, Barton, Moimt Olive, and Appalachian State.
