Wilkes Community College was
closed until noon, much to the
discontent of its eager students.
The largest voice of protest was
heard from the highly ambitious
humanities students who missed
being tested on their knowledge
of revolution. However, classes
resumed later in the day to
bring a few endowing moments to
thirsty young minds.
This white miracle called snow
came gentle on cats feet late
Monday afternoon and later that
same night to cover the Wilkes-
boros in a three to four-inch blan
ket. The above picture is typical
of the areas submitted to this
particular type
last Tuesday.
of precipitation
Besides Wilkes Community
College, all Wilkes County, Wat
auga County, Avery County and
Ashe County public schools were
closed.
Judging from the amount of
snowfall last Tuesday, this
coming winter promises to be
one of heavy precipitation which
will probably result in the closing
of many schools for a compara
tively lengthy duration of time.
We can only hope that Wilkes
Community College is not one of
these schools.
Elect Officers
Sophomore
VP to Face
Run-Off
On November 14, 15, and 18th
the Freshman class of Wilkes
Community College held an elec
tion to select class officers. The
election was conducted by the
Student Government Association
and ballots were cast in all
Freshman English classes.
The final outcome was made
known by Mr. Don Redding, spon
sor of the SGA.
Dennis Bare was elected class
president, Roger Richardson was
chosen vice president, Anita
Shepherd won the post of sec
retary, and Steve Foster became
treasurer.
The race for vice president
of the Sophomore class was de
clared too close to call by the
SGA. Only a few votes separated
the fore-runners-Molly Wink
ler, Paul Hubbard, and Larry
Handy. A run-off election will
be held in the very near future
to decide who will be the new
Sophomore vice president.
CIRCLE K CLUB SWEET

is pictured above being: told
that she is the duly appointed,
official sweetheart of the Circle
K Club. Terry Ireland breaks
the news to her, much to her
delight. The Circle K couldn’t
have chosen a sweeter sweet
heart.

Circle K Officers
The Circle K Club chose Bill Warren, Floyd Rogers, Larry Handy,
and Randy Absher to be its representing officials. The above pic
tured boys will preside over all Circle K functions for the 1968-
1969 school year. The Circle K should be well led and represent
ed by the election of these fine young men.
