ACTIVITY BUS
Wilkes Community College has
added an activity bus to its facil
ities for the convenience of the
students.
The bus was purchased by the
Student Government Association
with the intention of using it to
transport students to school act
ivities that arise away from
school such as ballgames, con
ventions, field trips, and other
outings.
The newly acquired bus, a
converted school bus purchased
from the Wilkes County School
System, has been completely re
painted inside and out by inter
ested students who worked on the
bus on Saturdays and Sundays
through much of the cold wea
ther.
Charles Johnson, president of
the Student Government Associ
ation stated that the bus has been
used on one trip thus far and there
are hopes of using the bus for
most of the away ballgames next
year for which there will be a
slight charge.
