THE VOICE OF WILKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE VOI. 12, NO 6 WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA MAY 21, 1983 Sixteenth Commencement May 26,1983 Graduates Graduates, to you we extend our most sincere congratu lations as you approach your Wilkes Community College Commencement. We truly hope that your past studies with us will be the beginning of greater accomplishments and higher goals attained. Graduation exercises will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, in the College Gym in the Technical Arts Building. The graduating class will meet at 3:45 in the Gym for instructions for line-up and preview of graduation. Please come directly and promptly to the Gym when you arrive on campus, as we are planning a very tight schedule in order to conserve your time. If you will ask your family and friends to wait in the Commons or outdoors until we are finished in the gym, it will be appreciated. On May 19, we will be mailing to you a card with your line assignment number for the Commencement marchin line. Please check for this card in your mail and place it in your wallet to bring with you for aid in our line-up procedure. This is a most important item in our planning for the best and most orderly line organization, and please give it your utmost attention. We would also like to call your attention to the mailer your family will receive from the Market South Photo Studios, since you are probably not familiar with this firm. They have done photographs previously for our graduation, and we have heard nothing but praise for their work and appreciation from families for having the opportunity to get good photos of their graduates. Please be sure to check with the library and the business office to see that all financial obligations to the college have been settled. You may pick up your caps and gowns in the Bookstore at any time in order to “press the wrinkles out” before May 26. Again, graduates, you have proven to WCC faculty and students, relatives, and friends alike that you are prepared to move on to more rewarding and enriching experiences. Tomor row will reflect your values, your ideas, and most definitely your contributions to mankind. We leave with you just one final thought for remembrance: it is upon you - the young, learned, and open-minded - that the entire world depends and hopes!
