We are here to support you Please turn to page 2 ... If you have been wonder ing what the construction crews are doing in our former parking lots, it's a great new building our campus is getting. In November 1993, a Community College Bond was passed that allowed Wilkes Community College the funds to build a new Learning Resource and Student Center. This will be the second largest building on campus. The new building is ex pected to be occupied Spring Semester of 1998. You are going to love this new building, with 44,000 square feet of space and two stories high. The Learning Re sources Center, better known as the library, will be housed on the sec ond floor of the building. This will provide you, the students, a better resource with new computer tech nology and more books to help you in your studies. The first floor of the new building will house a new student center. piease turn to page 4.... Wilkes Community College Learning Resources and Student Center Where Are We Gonna Park? Everyone is wondering where in the world students are going to park when the main parking lots are full. The construction of the college’s newest building has taken away a major portion of the college's parking lots. The construction will be going on for a long time, so stu dents, GET USED TO IT. We all have to work together to make this inconvenience a little less stressful. The best thing for students to do is to get here early, find a good parking space close to the building where most of their classes are held, THEN STAY THERE! Walking is good for the body anyway; why not take advantage of it? This campus has been fortunate enough to be able to provide adequate parking Continued on page 2 ...
