We have been providing academic support services to WCC students since 1979. If you are a first-generation college student with limited income or if you have a need for edu cational support because of a disability, SSS is the place for you. Our goal is to provide services to help you stay in school. Some of our services include tutoring, aca demic skills building, career, college transfer and finan cial aid advising, counseling, study skills training, learn ing and study styles assessments, and fun things like luncheons and cultural events. These services benefit many students as demonstrated by their comments: “I appreciate the extra help. It makes school easier.” “I think this is a wonderful service. If it had not been for my tutor, I would have dropped the class. I made an “A” in the class. Thanks so much for your services and I am so glad I am in SSS.” “I enjoyed the luncheons and the cultural trips were edu cational and full of excitement. They helped me relax and get away.” “The combination of counseling and tutoring benefited me the most in college. I could not have made it without SSS.” “The SSS computer lab is the most helpful because there is always someone there to help me and it is quiet.” “SSS taught me how to study more effectively.” “College transfer advising helped me plan on what classes I needed to take before I transferred to ASU.” For more information about SSS, visit us in the Student Success Center, third floor of Thompson Hall.
