For The Newest Building on Campus
A
The new science and technology building on
the Wilkes Community College campus will
be named Lowe’s Hall in honor of Lowe's
Companies, Inc.
Lowe’s Companies, Inc. and its employees have
been loyal friends to WCC for many years. The
contributions made by Lowe’s Companies to the
Next Step Campaign were vital to the success of
the funding campaign and helped make the new
building a reality.
“We have been fortunate to enjoy a partnership
with Lowe's for over 40 years," says WCC Vice
President of DeveIopment“B"Townes."Not only
has the company been supportive of our many
projects financially, but their employees have
been volunteers and contributors personally.”
Naming the building Lowe’s Hall was a decision
made by the WCC Board of Trustees to
recognize the support the college receives from
the company.
Lowe’s Hall is nearing completion and will be
fully occupied in January 2007. In addition to
offices and state-of-the-art instructional space
for the science and technology departments,
Lowe’s Hall will house the James Larking
Pearson Collection and will serve as a much
needed connector between upper and lower
campus.
